Had a really good day yesterday at Disneyland, but the end of it reminded me of a problem I need to find a solution for – I need to figure out how the hell I’m going to publish this stuff. This is over the halfway mark of the first draft of Part Two of Notes From the Abyss, and part one has yet to be read by another set of eyes and commented on. I lack cover images.

Also realized I need to push the people who’ve promised to help me with some of my other ideas ’cause I’m bored with sleeping in the place I sleep in. It’s not, well, where I’d like to be.

Enough of this maudlin complaining though, you came here for a story!

And, well, here’s part of one!

Second to last post! Wow. I’m going to be posting something else soon, probably the edited version of Fake Cigarettes and Cold Coffee. I am working on two fantasy pieces right now, though, for inclusion in a competition (hopefully). One is about a group of Appalachian kids who exterminate fantasy creatures and clear out mines and other assorted dungeons, the other is a brand new fantasy world with a story centered on a woman who works as a psychopomp in her world.

At least until Monday, though, the story post focus is on Notes. Be sure to let me know if you see any problems with it, as always. Oh! And if you think you know someone who might be interested in reading, please don’t hesitate to thell them about the blog. It’d mean the world to me. It might mean a steady income for me, too, in the future, which is even more important than the world to be quite honest.

Oh, woe – my page views have been so low this week!

Followers, please, send a link to someone you know that reads science fiction or likes pulp stories. I’d love to get some more comments on my work, and some more readers, so I thought I’d ask.

Sorry I haven’t been posting articles lately, so much, as I haven’t had a whole lot of time and there’s a few places where it looks like my class article wasn’t enjoyed much so I haven’t felt the urge to keep up with it. However, if there’s anything you’d like to see, I’m willing to put the time into researching stuff. Otherwise I’ll keep it to myself!

Also, we’re getting close to the end of the story for Notes, for now. At 11 we’re done with the first part and I’ll be waiting a month or so to get started on part 2 – but I’ll tell you about my plans when I post it. So, look forward to that!

Also, something something donate, something something promotion. Blah, blah.

Let’s just assume that I did my begging-slash-self promotion thing here. I’d rather just give a heartfelt thanks to everyone that’s reading and enjoying the series so far. You’re the real joy since I don’t write for me – I don’t need to know my own stories – I write for you, to make your world a little better, a little brighter, maybe a little different.

So my hat’s off to you, dear reader. I hope to continue to see you here.

One last thing…the pun? It’s intentional. In case you’re wondering.

The next chapter of Notes From the Abyss is below! I hope you’re enjoying this so far. As always, if you are, please consider tossing me a donation through the button on the right. Don’t worry if you can’t, though – the writing’s all free no matter what. The e-book version, though, which should be coming soon (just doing some fine tuning and getting a cover done up) will be $1 through any ebook market I can control the pricing at (which is, well, all of them I’m pretty sure).

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to post ’em. I’m pretty sure the people I’ve worked with on G+ can verify that I take criticism well and it’s more important to me that the story is enjoyable than it’s “my” vision.

And after this we’ve only got five more chapters left! Then it’s back to short stories while I get Notes From the Abyss part 2 started and, perhaps, Out of Thyme – my steampunk spy drama.

What follows is the fifth chapter of Notes From the Abyss, that serial sci-fi I’m writing. This is also just part one, so there’ll be even more when this is over.

I’m having test readers go through whole document now and I’ve got two artists working on cover mockups for me so I can get this up on digital marketplaces soon. I hope you’re interested in buying it, reading it, showing it off to your friends, etc.
